The client

A network of dental implant practices across Australia, each drawing patients from its own local catchment. Every practice needed a predictable flow of implant and full-arch enquiries, but implant treatment is a high-value considered purchase, not an impulse buy, so raw lead volume was never the goal. The brief across the network was consistent: exclusive, locally-targeted enquiries that a central team could triage, financially qualify, and turn into booked patients who actually attend.

The challenge

  • A lead is not a patient. Meta reports cost per lead and stops there. A sub-$100 lead means nothing on its own if it never becomes a booked, qualified patient sitting in the chair.
  • High-ticket, considered purchase. Implant and full-arch cases carry a large case value, so the funnel has to filter hard for genuine intent and financial fit rather than chase the cheapest possible volume.
  • Local economics only work inside a radius. Enquiries had to be generated close to each practice so patients realistically attend, and at a cost that leaves the case profitable.

The approach

  • Generated exclusive local leads. Meta lead campaigns targeted within roughly a 20km radius of each practice, so every enquiry is a realistic local patient rather than a broad-catchment browser.
  • Owned the full funnel, not just the click. Every lead flows into a centralised Dental Call Team that responds fast, triages the enquiry, and books qualified patients straight into the practice diary.
  • Qualified financially before booking. The mandate in triage is to book only patients who are financially suited to proceed, protecting chair time and the practice's case economics instead of inflating booking counts.
  • Managed spend across the network. Roughly $70K in blended ad spend managed across the practices over the period, read campaign by campaign rather than on a blended average that hides the spread.

The results

Over 1 Jan – 16 Jul 2026 the campaigns delivered 1,427 exclusive local leads at a blended $49 cost per lead on ~$70K of managed spend, roughly 10 qualified enquiries every working day, Monday to Friday. Cost per lead ranged from $23 to $68 across practices depending on catchment and competition.

The number the platform never shows sits underneath. Once the Dental Call Team triages and books, the effective cost of a booked, financially-qualified patient in the chair is circa $800. Against an average attended case value of ~$40,000, that is roughly a 50× ratio of case value to patient-acquisition cost.

Why it worked

The edge is not the lead price. Plenty of providers can buy a cheap lead. The edge is owning everything between the click and the chair. A $49 lead only becomes a $40,000 case because a trained call team responds quickly, triages honestly, screens for financial fit, and books the patient into the diary. Most providers hand over raw leads and leave conversion to the practice. This model delivers booked, qualified patients: the outcome a practice actually pays for.

What I bring to a practice: exclusive local implant lead generation inside a viable radius, plus a full patient-acquisition funnel (fast triage, honest financial qualification, and booking straight into the diary), so the practice buys attended, qualified patients, not raw leads it has to chase.

Scope. Figures are blended Meta lead-generation results across multiple Australian dental implant practices for 1 Jan – 16 Jul 2026. Spend, leads and cost per lead are taken directly from Meta Ads Manager. Cost per booked patient (~$800), average attended case value (~$40,000) and any figure derived from them are operating-model figures from the practice and call-team side, shown to illustrate the full funnel; they are not metrics reported by Meta. Practice identities and campaign names are anonymised. Individual results vary by catchment, competition and case mix.
